Well it was more of an opinion being lifted about one of the Sonic games that was made.

He was talking about the Anthropomorphic aspect of the game, he referred to something very specific.

Sonic being kissed by a human, he said that this brings out an element of bestiality. Obviously I don't agree.

I obviously don't agree that anthro/human action = bestiality either, but they do make a good point of saying that SEGA is basically pulling the Sonic universe plot out of their arses at this point.

I didn't see any mention of bestiality in that article, but yes, the main gripe was about Sonic being kissed by a human, and how that's not okay. In my opinion, since Sonic has all the cognitive and emotional capabilities of a human (he basically has a human mind, is what I'm saying) then the only thing that actually makes him any different from a human is the way he looks. Going by that logic, it should be "wrong" for any two beings to be together unless they look alike, which means that interracial relationships should also be considered "wrong".

As one of the oldest and most well known Sonic fans in Africa, let me give my 2c

They always find stuff to write about Sonic. When Rouge the Bat came into the foray with Sonic Adventure 2, they said she was there to make teenage boys get all horny and likely to buy more games.
I have heard it all, amongst other things:

* Sonic is gay and Tails' is his lover
* Knuckles is gay and wants to bone Sonic
* Cream the Rabbit is a little whore for every character in the series to bone. ( I cannot mention the actual story, because it would go against forum terms and conditions)

All of course, is utter bullshit. Most stuff from Japan (and Sonic is of course as Japanese as they come) gets misunderstood. Reminds me of the anime Cardcaptor Sakura, who was deemed a little satanist, and then eventually her best friend in the story, Tomoyo Daidouji, was her lesbian lover... what the actual FUCK???

Now, the game in question is one of the poorest Sonic games ever made, known as Sonic The Hedgehog (2006). Its so bad, its one of the few I haven't played. The game is not available anymore that's how bad it was. Most fans pretend the game doesn't exist. SEGA got a tremendous backlash for that game. The other bad game was Sonic Unleashed. I also don't have that game, I used to, it was UTTER CRAP!
These games are examples of SEGA's not-so-finest hour.

The games that came after that, especially Sonic Generations, put things back in order. the upcoming film will also likely put things back into order.

The main problem, as I have stated, as I have written to SEGA about, as I have even mentioned in blog posts, all over the internet, is that SEGA has lost the fucking plot. This is what happens when you lose a key set of developers because you are stupid, greedy and plain thick as a plank.

There is a lot riding on that movie, it is the last attempt at reviving the prestige and glory of a much loved gaming icon. At least (well it seems so) they have the right people on board to make it happen.

But to answer the allegation. Sonic has been involved with many, obviously these people haven't seen the comics. I have a copy of the Archie Comics - Love Stinks which revolves around all of Sonic's relationships. He dates everything, even a squirrel. So is it beastiality, Not a bloody fuck man. Where do they come off with this shit? And to base your argument on some shitty game from 10 years ago that was a massive commercial flop. No ways!

Oh and before I get started... I guess nobody has seen Sonic X either... oh man, them beastiality crew will have a field day with that one.

But, let us not forget that Sonic is the gateway for many, into the furry fandom. He sure was, for me.

Sorry guys but bestiality discussions are not permitted on this forum for multiple reasons. I know the topic is relevant to the forum in terms of how anthros are discussed in South Africa but with the main focus of the original post being bestiality I do not want to let this escalate. I am locking this thread but would be happy to see a replacement opened up that does not discuss bestiality.
