A furry I saw the other day

#1

Post by Randall »

I saw this the other day on the side of a van

Image

Turns out to be the mascot of a shipping company in Edenvale, Gauteng. I thought it was pretty cool. A bit green, but nothing we can't fix with Photoshop.

I don't know much about visual art, but I think it would have been much better if the outline wasn't green as well. Having a green outline together with the green body makes the whole thing seem kinda washed out.

Yup, that's it. Outline should be black.

Thanks Leeward, that looks better, much better

I was actually joking. :P

This looks like a more appropriate colour for a bobcat type thing.

My Yote sona is lime green, white and black

Well as explained, it looked kind of weird being ALL green.
Now that the outline is black, it looks much better. I have no issue with the colour of your fursona.

No you're a colorsist you bloody blue freak
*Makes all kinds of drama*

Yeah the gradient of green of those outlines, just makes it feel like a greyscale picture that they got from google and just made it green.

The mascot is pretty cool, I always stare at the trucks as I see them often.

Another thing. I think they should make his backpack a different colour than his fur, otherwise it looks like some kind of bizarre tumour. It just irks the hell out of me.

On a visual art side, having the lines a darker shade of the main car is actually meant to be less offensive to the eyes, especially when viewed in direct sunlight. I actually prefer the original, but that's just me.

In glad that I'm not alone. I really don't like any of the recolors.

Well, considering this char is on the side of a white van, outside in direct sunlight, kind of makes sense.

Rainbow colours may in fact be a really awesome thing.

I forgot to mention another reason why the outer lines are as such.

Because in reality do we have big black lines around us? No. It looks better and makes more "realism" in cartooning to have slightly darker colors as an outline as opposed to black...
