Post by Angel eyed wolfy »

I won't lie. It is quite hard to chat to and find friends being new. I'm still trying to figure this all out while wishing to make contact with some friendly furr.

I would like this to be were old furr help or chat to new furry members like myself hehe.Help us out even if it is just a friendly hello hehe.

Let me put it to you Wolfy (sorry now I sound like the attorney of a very famous murdering paralympian), this is likely the safest place on the interwebs for furry. There's a good complement of mods and admins around most of the time. Its a happy place y'know.

I'm not sure if someone said it above (my phone isn't behaving here at the moment here)
But a good way to make friends and start to get to know everyone, is to join one or more of the whatsapp groups :D there are a whole bunch of us on them.

If you are interested you can ask one of the admins to add you or PM one of us your number in order to forward it to the whatsapp admins.

Oh and let me at least say Hi! :P

I would caution against the WhatsApp groups, they tend to get spammy and annoying rather quickly. But if you like that then by all means join them.

Not all the groups are like that, and Sev, that's a terribly unfair statement to make. unless you are in one fo the actual adult groups then we don't get sexual. maybe an innuendo once in a blue moon but considering she'd be in the GP group she would join the main one and they are pretty much always well behaved because we respect the rules.

we don't get spammy that often Leeward.

Just because you two had kak experiences doesn't mean you get to ruin it for new people and warn them against them when there is absolutely nothing wrong with them.

The SAfur group and the GP group.

The adult groups are specifically adult.

Also. I find it amusing that the 2 furries with the highest post count ratio are the 2 that suggests against the watsapp groups.

Hi there! Welcome welcome welcome! Sorry I missed the introduction. Most groups are pretty chilled. There is also a very chilled female group and also an art group. The main group can get excited and chatty but no more so than other large groups. It's a nice way to ease into the fandom. Everyone is loving and caring and supportive. Tension is diffused if it pops up and generally it's just a nice place to relax and get cuddled to death. Also if you do want to chat I would happily add you on skype. Welcome to the madness!

There's a difference between spamming a web interface and a mobile chat group. Nobody is forced to read all our posts on the forums, whereas for each and every single f***ing WhatsApp group message your phone notifies you, so when the group is chatty your phone goes bananas. Unless you mute the group of course, but that leaves you with hundreds of messages to read when you want to resume conversation. I just find that a huge waste of time, personally.

Also it's only Sev who thinks it's a race, not me.

This is why I don't use WhatsApp group chat.
It becomes inconvenient, you'll be working, or spending time with the family and then folks wanna mssg or rp. Rather I choose to make it known I am available at specific times by being around on IRC or on Skype, during my gaming / rp time. That way life and small hedgehogs don't get in the way of me time and don't ruin it.
