What species is your sona? Remastered...

Here we are again.

Apologies for the previous thread but it was a bit lacking in some common sona choices so I’ll try this again. Here's is the old thread: Link

Decided to get some stats up within the ZAFUR members for scientific research that includes quantumness with some string theory and general relativity added in there to spice it up some more. We are gonna divide by zero and stuff if members participate. (Basically doing this due to the influx of the same species recently joining the site)

What species is your sona?

This poll is aimed at your primary sona NOT the 73 others you have though about. I set the poll for 4 options for mixed species but please if you choose that many it's already a bit nuts... but who cares right. lol. Do not choose primates because you are an anthro dog or something, it's there for primate characters.

Choose, discuss and let the Anthro War begin.

And please keep the responses on topic and positive, just so that it stays fun for everyone.

Think it’s also a good thread for a summary of sonas BTW so if you choose it would be nice to explain what you chose and your sona summary. AKA “Anubian Jackal with blue Bioluminescence markings, no pupils, who is devastatingly hot and sexy.”

A side note, this list is limited down to the most common classes in the Phylums for the fandom if you are forced to choose “other” then that means you have a more unique character and should be proud rather than upset. I couldn’t select Lazy procrastinating God of the dead so yeah…

Please read the first line as Bovidae and Cervidae (Deer, Bulls, Antelope, cows, duiker, etc...) . The interwebs lied to me... Not redoing the topic again.

Anyways, Where's all the Scalies..?

The difference being cervids shed their antlers yearly whereas bovids have horns that grow throughout their lives. If you want to make it more general you could always say ruminants.

Chipmunk. Not much else to say other than that I'm not surprised at the sheer amount of canines.

Personally I would have gone with primate. Engineered primate but primate none the less. Maybe primate and other.

By that definition non-furry human personas are primates too, and that's not a fursona, it's an alter-ego.

Nope. Not for this poll. An alter ego is an acting character, whether it's human or anthropomorphic mammals, reptiles, birds, fish or even inanimate objects.

Can't believe I'm now lumped in with sergals and things. :/

Anyway if you people enjoy this sort of thing you'd probably like the Species Popularity Explorer hosted on [adjective][species]. I think the data is from their furry survey of almost 9000 furs but you can also compare species data to all sorts of things and compare two selections at once.

E.g. 7% of male furs are domestic cats but 14% of female furs are. Similar for other felines too. Or you can see that river otters are more popular with gay furs than all but dragons and cats are the other way around.

They're in the same family. But it looks like there are different subfamilies for true dogs (including false foxes) and true foxes.

Well the first attempt was pretty educational with hyenas. I really though they were part of the canine family.

Some of the poll things are sub classes and some super classes. I tried to split it as much as possible to at least include the majority of characters in the fandom. But it's really tricky keeping it biologicly accurate and getting the stats for sonas across the fandom. for example going to superclass with deers and goats includes all hooved animals including horses.

Setting up this poll was a learning experience for me.
