Weekly IRC Chat on #zafur

As many of you may know, there is an IRC channel that's been around for many years on Furnet (irc.furnet.org); #zafur. According to Wiki, this used to attract as many as 20 people at a time quite often in 2006, though from what I gather not many of the active members here were part of that group. It was founded by TigerTael, who is registered on these forums (but not really active currently).

It's difficult just to say "hey, everyone come to #zafur!" coz everyone will come and go at different times and miss everyone else.. in a small community such as ours I'd like to propose a weekly chat (to start with, anyway) on this IRC channel, a time when people can expect to see ZA furs there, if at no other time.

First and foremost..what time and day of the week would suit everyone the most for something like this?

I've heard of the IRC channel but that's it. In fact I think I've only once even looked at an IRC chat. If something starts happening there I'd be curious enough to go and take a look. Just need to give me details and stuff bout IRC and all.
As for time I can usually get on most days in the evening. Depends on TV really. ^^

Spoof is the resident Bot, so he won't say much

i'm usually on IMs, it's easier to find people

I use XChat in linux and windows for my chatting, but many furs use MiRC which resorts to dirty tactics to make people use it (just click on the creator's nose in the picture of him in the about box and you'll know what i'm talking about) ... yeah, okay, so it's not that bad

let me help, at start up you click on add then you will see a new network thingy pop up then you rename it what you like but id prefer you name it furnet then you click on it then you click on edit right under remove then you will see something pops up, then you click on newserver/6667 or whatever then you click on edit again and type in irc.furnet.org and then you can close the window and connect. Hmmm that bottle of Gin is calling my name so i hope you get it right

And i am on there often nowdays, since our furry channel is also there

May I then propose Saturdays from 5pm ('till whenever ppl hit the sack or go out for their saturday nite parties)? This appears to be a time when most ZA furries seem to be online... What say y'all?

*rubs his chin* I havent joined in there for a while now.. Though I guess I can swing by now and then, but I get people that visit frequently, and I dont want them reading some certain things of an interesting nature.

Well, weekends for me are prolly a heck of a lot more crazy for me than my week evenings.

We had a hell of a "party" on IRC on tuesday evening (i think) (15th)

if we can get furs popping round in their evenings it would be a great time to meet up and chat.

So, maybe we shouldn't have a fixed day and time, but rather just a time that most furs will be online every evening.. or on days when they can be (I'm way too used to be able to get on just about any time). I don't know about the rest of you, but I rarely get to bed before 12am every night (or morning, whatever), so maybe we could say that most furs will be on around 8pm or so?

I'm only normally on IRC during work hours, during the week since I leave my client connected at my (secure) workstation. Unfortunately, I may be idly due to the workload at my work. XD

It's not very likely to catch me after 4:30pm during weekdays and not very likely to see me over the weekend.

Have to agree with mousie though, IM's are a far better choice at this moment in time ^..^
