Furry Movies / Series

Post by Hunterwolf »

How many furry movies and or series are out there? I know a few, and recently found one that not many know of...so there may still be others that need to be found and watched!!!

So how abouts we compile a list of furry movies and or series. By furry, well...we're all furs, we know what furry is ^.^

How this works! I'll start..and post several titles. If you know of others, simply reply, copy and paste whats already there and add your additions ^.^

1) Road Rovers
2) Biker Mice from Mars
3) Kaze
4) Silverwing
5) Gargoyles
6) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Ok..i should know more...but its late and my brain is too focused on my pillow at the moment ^.^

So...who's next? ^.^ Lets see how long we can make this list ^.^

I'd probably say anything which fits a few furry ideas is furry but I know some people disagree and say only things made specifically with the aim of being furry are furry.

I'd say Farthing Wood is furry but others will say it was just meant to be an appealing show for children and has nothing to do with furry other than there are intelligent animals. I doubt the people that made something like TMNT are furs so it probably was never meant to be furry. If you'll still take it as furry almost anything for kids is furry.

Robin Hood by Disney studios, saw it as a young kid, have not seen it recently, but that is a "furry" movie in this case.

A lot of other Disney films are also "furry" movies as well.

Cheers, Red. :)

Yip that is true, a lot of cartoons are in fact furry... It would be hard to list them all.

But i'll add my addition: The old Sonic cartoons... I think those count.

What about those movies where they are in the Fantasy Genre that contains werewolves and such? Would they be counted as "Furry"?

But I think it would be nice if they could have a furry movie that is not cartoon that is adult orientated and not a horror/fantasy or anything in that genre.

I am pretty sure it does not exist (in general release at least) because the market is simple just not there for a movie like that from what the producers see. I wonder if they could do a marketing research on how people would react to certain anthropomorphic films, I would like to see what the general preferences of the public would come back as?

My prediction is that with the 3D movies becoming very popular and powerful to use, it might be possible that the directors would opt to use non human characters as their protagonist in the movies as a change and a different from all the other films. People might be interested in something like that, or they might think it is quite silly, who knows.

I agree that some might think that TMNT or Farthing Wood or even Over the Hedge are not furry movies...and while technically they weren't made to BE furry movies, I believe they're still considered furry!

If we look at the fandom, not all furs are anthropomorphic in the true sense. Some just have the ability to speak and are just your average furry critter. Farthing Wood would therefore fall into the furry category, not because its a furry movie, but because furs can associate with cute fluffy talking animals.

Thats where the fandom orignated after all...animals..and us taking after them in whichever way we deem most appropriate to our fursonas.

Felidae is quite an adult film that is still animated. not anthropomorphic though, which is the original definition of "furry animals" or "funny animals" as it work. Still, talking cats, I suppose one could argue are to some extent anthropomorphisms.

I'd count talking cats as furry. Heh, i'm not an anthro myself (except in special circumstances)

Dog City! no one remebers Dog City!

'tis the one with the detective and the chief of police, but the animator is a puppet... and generally argues with his animations while drawing the plot!

I'm sure with the way technology in CG movies is coming along, we will find a good one or ten sometime in our lifetimes. Also with the internet growing, more and more people are becoming furries (or realizing that they are furries). One day we'll look back and say "damn, they actually used real people in movies back then" =P I'm certain we will find several future CG movies to use anthro characters.

ok, gonna show my true age here. hehe

Anybody remember 'pound puppies'. or the adult film 'fritz the cat' or the 'porkys' series.
Theres also a series that used to be on K-TV back in the day called 'racoons' which i believe is now on DSTV.
Some argue about 'animaniacs' being furry to. plus any1 remember this line "not da mamma" yup.. dinosaurs.

'Watership down' i wouldn't consider very kiddie like either.

'Secret of nimh' 'Fievel goes West'
'Barnyard' <- still a fav.

I believe furry is anything that we can look at as being more than just an animal. Whether they talk, dance or save the universe...furry is giving animals human traits...and finding in ourselves something to relate to those animals ^.^

Hey all.

Just thinking about it there are in fact a lot.

Beauty and the Beast (1 and 2)
Wolf's rain
Fox and the hound (1 and 2)
Balto (1, 2 and 3)
Aristocats
Ice age (1 and 2)
Shrek (1, 2 and 3)
A bug’s life
Antz
The Lion King (1, 2 and 3)
The Golden Compass
Alvin and the chipmunks
Surfs up
Eragon < ---- Fave, but could have been better.
Shark tale
Good boy
The little Mermaid (1 and 2)
Digimon
Pokemon
Garfield (1 and 2)
Land before time (1 - 9 ... I think or did it get to 7...)
Mew Mew Power

But few that are extremely awesome.
Some of these are probably debatable.

Did I get that right?... The mic was off? What do you mean it was OFF!

Since we posting every sort of thing with animal characters there's a series on SABC 2 on Fridays at 17:00. It's called animalia and is computer generated and has a bunch of anthro animals in it.
