An American-fur in ZA? Well, not quite yet...

Come in and introduce yourself! Don't be shy now. We don't bite. Expect a few licks though...

An American-fur in ZA? Well, not quite yet...

Good morning (8am where I'm at)! Name's DesertYote, but you can, of course, just call me 'Yote. As the title suggests, I'm an American (Polish heritage) living in the Phoenix, Arizona area. There's a surprisingly large number of ZA folks around here!

Anyway...I guess some of you might be wondering just what in the world I'm doing here, eh? Truth be told, I'm looking forward to a 2-3 week trip to ZA in early February to visit some good friends of mine (Yukon on these boards being one of them). And who knows, if I get lucky, I just might wind up moving there one of these days - you never know.

Well, I suppose that's it for now...feel free to ask any questions if you've got 'em. Have a good one, and happy new year! ^.^

Thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to meeting you, as well. It wouldn't surprise me if I've met this wolf fellow somewhere out here before. ^.^

Howdy! Hey if you're out there by Arizona, I know it's still a fair distance for you, but are you going to any of the furcons in California, such as say Further Confusion later this month in San Jose?

Not likely, no. I'm not too fond of California, in general. These days I only go there for bigger cons (like Anime Expo and San Diego Comic Con), but not for smaller stuff like FC. The drive really isn't too bad, but California sucks because they've banned just about everything that I enjoy (guns, smoking, etc).

Well, my choices at the moment are Russia and ZA...I don't really want to go back to a cold place, so ZA seems like the winner unless something else comes up.

That sounds ironic. An American moving to Russia.

Not really...there are plenty of Americans living in Russia, and plenty more Russians living in America. Believe it or not, we really don't harbor much animosity for each other. Hell, even during the Cold War, average Americans didn't really give a shit about all the government propaganda and posturing that was going about. In the end, it's all politics.
