Hey, friends! I'm back!

And chances are a significant number of you haven't met me before, because when you're out of it for three years a lot of newbies show up! So hey, I'm Kalium, I like to pretend that I'm a crotchety old tech person but I'm like, not even in my twenties! If you want to talk to me you can probably find me on IRC or twitter! I spend a lot of time complaining about computers and then also doing a degree in them.

I guess I'm here because I felt like I was out of it and I missed having a ton of friends who live in the same country as me, so hey, that's y'all. I'm gonna be your friendly local duiker who gets zapped with electricity a lot in their misguided attempts to make cool things.

Software has indeed gotten under my skin. I am actually studying Computer Engineering, so a bit of both. So far I've been tinkering with both, so I've got some very very wip projects on my Github if you wanted to check those out. Circuits are harder because you don't get an undo button, but that's half the fun!

It's half the fun until you make a really expensive mistake.

About the biggest mistake that I can make is Git Revert instead of Git Push (I was sleep deprived, and that was what the up arrow gifted me with, don't judge me).

I am currently Learning Me a Haskell. You should join me on this magnificent adventure.

Mmm, functional. I started doing some light functional 'cos I had to learn Javascript for a short internship. The more I do it the more it grows on me, and I found myself looking at kittenlang the other day. I definitely want to look into Haskell, it seems fun. The concept of functional programming tickles some deeply weird part of my feelings.

JS is a weird one, because it is both declarative and imperative.

Haskell is purely declarative.

In addition, Haskell is strongly typed (like Typescript is), which eliminates one of the main frustrations with JS.
