Hello everyone!


I'm Ventus Fall, maybe some of you might already know me via another furry forum, deviantArt, or even FurAffinity. (I'm also on some other sites, but those names I am most active on )

I'll tell you a bit about myself, but feel free to also tell me about you, so I can get to know you better as well!

I've come across this site thanks to Rakuen at EuroFurence. I went to his panel and we chatted a bit (I was in a wolf suit at the time). My partner is a South African fur. He probably has an account on here too xD
Uhm... where to start?

I have always considered myself to be a furry, but it's only since the beginning of 2012 that I found out there was a fandom. Since then I've been arting like crazy, designed several characters (of my own and of others, some who have become my friend since then), met a couple of furs in real life (this includes three to four S-A furs in total), and been fursuiting at various events too!

My characters?
Well, I'll name them, but if you have any questions about them, feel free to ask! ^^

Ventus Fall; Fur Dragon.
Solus; Alien bunny creature thing (I'm working on a new species reference sheet).
Suirrel; Squirrel.
ITO; Dragon.
Velcro; Has been a Doberman, but is now a mythological avian (still in the process of redesigning).

My favourite genres (movies, books, etc.) are sci-fi, psychology, and generally where story+character development plays a part. I can't get into a movie or story if the storyline is all over the place, or if the characters are like empty shells. Yup, I'm one of those people

I think that was the longest time I spent talking to a fursuiter at once. It gets kinda weird after a while actually... o.o I'm glad you decided to come visit us over here though and I hope you enjoy your time here.

He does have an account but he hasn't been active for a looong time. I checked after Eurofurence. But... now that you're on, you could always convince him to return. More fur is warmer fur as I just said.

In all seriousness though, I could show you how Ventus looks like. I've been busy with the redesign, and I'm intending on making her a Fur Dragon + QueztalCoatl hybrid (which is a mythological feathered serpent, so kind of like a dragon, basically. Except for the fur).

Hmm, well... if you like sci-fi, I take it you've already delved into the Alien movie (from 1979, by Ridley Scott)? Because that one I really like. Have you seen the Behind The Scenes stuff of that too? It's interesting how they came up with the cast with men and women for the movie, as well as how certain special effects were done too!
And I can't say it's the most amazing movie ever, but there is a movie called Skyline. It is a more recent sci-fi movie. I personally really enjoyed it.

That... made me laugh in real life.
I didn't take offence to it, no worries ITO is I believe the softest fursuit around, the short fur is all faux seal fur. Yup. Super, super soft.

I'm still very much in the process of learning how to art... Once I'm a little more confident, I'm hoping to start up a webcomic in the near future.

Alien is an astounding movie, that still holds up exceptionally well today. I might have to check out the behind the scenes stuff, that does sound really cool.

It's not that I dislike it per se. I can't say I like the unexpected attention.

Not to completely derail the topic, but tell me more about the whole Fursuiting business? I can't say I've had the pull to want to do anything of the sort, so I'd like to get more perspectives on it. I want to understand how others think, if only a little.

As for the reason: I quite enjoy fursuiting. Some do it to make others happy. While I like seeing people enjoy me fursuiting, it isn't the reason I fursuit. I did and do it, because I have always liked to wear a costume, roleplay with 'props', so to say. Dressing up as a dragon (for example) is something I've always wanted to do. It's the best way to get as close as possible to actually 'be a dragon', to a certain extent, of course. (That is something I've wanted to be since I was a kid: An animal of some sort. Mostly a dinosaur or a dragon. Later I've also wanted to be a bunny.)
Does this all make sense?

Well, I accept that I'm a human being. I have a human body, afterall. (Unlike most Therians, I feel. Nothing against Therians! D: I mean that I've noticed a lot of Therians think or feel they are actual animals.)
The soul can have many shapes and forms. While not a physical thing, everyone has a soul. For some reason I associate myself as more a dragon or a dinosaur (soulwise) than as a human being. It's hard to elaborate, but I've grown up with being surrounded by dinosaurs and dragons. I loved those things as a kid (even still today ), even got a huge book on dinosaurs from my Grandad. A book which I've been looking in every time for years when I was visiting him.
I've also done a lot of meditating (part of the process when doing the two martial arts I've done in the past). I've learned from a young age to do so (at seven or something). A lot of researching, etc. It all came to a conclusion after so many years.
It just felt right, a certain connection I felt when I associated myself as a dragon.

Knowing I'm a human being, but accepting this as well as accepting I can feel different, makes it a lot calmer and easier for me

As for regards to having more than one fursona: I've always had difficult keeping just to one character or persona. I have many side which all make a whole, which is me. Ventus Fall is the one I use the most. It's how I entered the fandom, it's how most people know me as.
That, and Ventus represents my art side. Each fursona represents a certain thing or category.
Suirrel = Coding and computers.
Velcro = Usually a character I use for 'couple characters', it's hard to explain, especially because I'm currently redesigning her.
Solus = My love for psychology, space, scifi, aliens, etc. (and bunnies)
ITO? Ito is a hard case, he usually represents my gaming side, as well as my gender-fluid side (but this last thing also is with regards to Solus).

Mostly... It's hard for me to roleplay as my fursonas. I usually tend to create new characters, or already existing ones which aren't my fursonas. When I 'dress up' as one of my characters, it doesn't feel as roleplaying, but then again, isn't that the magic of roleplay?
But whether I roleplay them or not, they are a personification of me. They all represent me, how odd that might sound to some.
(I just can't keep to one, I've tried, trust me! xD)
