Don't feel bad I do that too. I've had people give me birthday wishes and I have to thank them and explain I used a fake date to register. So for future reference my birthday is not 1 January (I do put the correct year though).

It's personally identifying information at a level of detail that isn't needed. If you're happy to give out all your personal details then it wouldn't bother you. If you want a certain level of privacy then it isn't good.
