make people want to use the site more.
I just joined and noticed that a lot of the posts are from AT LEAST last year. (I've seen older posts) I have an idea for this, my last two forums, Furvilla and Sonic Blast, both had some kind of game elements to the site. implementing something like this would make people want to use the site more. (hopefully)

I've been thinking about it, but I don't have anything yet

i think a good start is to implement collectible items. aside from this, I don't have any ideas that would set this site apart from the other two.

or, this just came to me, there could be a tycoon sort of thing, ya know hire workers that make money, use that money to hire more workers, ect ect.
we can always build on both of these ideas later.

Most forums got very quiet. Even many chat groups on different platforms. Personally, I'm not a fan of trying to entice people with gimmicks. It should be there for people to communicate. One can lure people in with gimmicks and things, like much of social media does, but I don't think that is healthy or makes a good community.

Re: make people want to use the site more.
I think it is a matter of routine and convenience.
Is it more convenient to check an app you already use to talk to your friends, then you'd spend your social time in said app.
If you aren't in the routine of opening a specific forum website to check the new posts, then you'd need a reason to do so.
Email notifications per reply clogs up your email imo, and if you check it a few times and there is nothing new, you'd be less incentivised to check it again the next time, and so on.
I am 'guilty' of going from an active member to inactive member many times before, and thats my personal observation on why I forget to check here until I remember it exists.
Back when the other site (Anthroculture?) tried to compete, they had a telegram bot that send out updates in a channel as people posted or made new topics, with a link to take you right there. I thought that was a neat and wonderful idea, but no one used the site so it died off anyway.

Re: make people want to use the site more.
I admire the tenacity of the youth, but this is by no means a new idea. I remember suggesting modernisation and such a while back, and there were others who did it before me.
Way I see it, this site is no longer a hub of activity, a social network, or the de facto capital of the online local fandom as it once was, years ago. It's something... more antique now. An old museum that the old boys' club (metaphorically speaking) sometimes meets at. You wouldn't modernize this site any more than you would try and make a plane at an air force museum airworthy again. I mean, this site looks like a relic from the 2000's - the nostalgic charm included.

hhmmm, you give me an idea... not one that I can follow through with but an idea nonetheless.
