Black squares...

I don't know if it's my new phone (an S4) or the new forum software, but while scrolling through threads, there's random blackness over the screen. Sometimes the whole screen, sometimes just a corner. When I scroll, it sometimes goes away, sometimes stays. When I stop scrolling, a bunch of new black blocks come...

It's kinda annoying, having to constantly scroll to see the actual website... Any clue what's causing this?

No idea. I haven't seen it the few times I've used my phone and not at all on desktop. I would've guessed pop up ads or something but we don't run any ads or pop ups. Have you tried different browsers?

I think it's when it tries to refresh the page, or load it, or something. It's definitely not ads...

It doesn't do it on any other pages, as far as I've seen...

But eh. It's just an annoyance. I can live with it

Yeah, I think that that happened to me when I zoomed it on my phone.

I mostly brows around on my phone... I have seen nothing similar...

Out of curiosity... What browser are you using? Stock/Chrome?

On my laptop, I use the Opera browser (v36.0.2130.65), and on my mobile I use Google Chrome as a browser. I, personally, have not seen anything like that on either. Judging from the other responses, this problem seems to be more peculiar to individuals than a site problem.

Addendum:

Curious about this problem, I performed a simple Google search, and I found several results which are relevant. [1] [2]

From what I have gathered, it would appear it affects Chrome users specifically, irrespective of which operating system they use. Advice on how to fix the problem generally goes as follows:
1. Ensure you’ve the latest Chrome version installed on your computer

2. Turn on the Hardware Acceleration option in Settings if disabled. For that, click on Chrome menu, select Settings > Advanced Settings, Scroll down under system, check ‘Use Hardware Acceleration when available’

3. Find and enable this flag in Chrome: Enable slimming paint phase 2.

4. If you’ve HWA already enabled, see if disabling could help the issue to go away.

5. Disable all extensions in Chrome.

6. Create a new Chrome Profile and see if the issue persists.

7. Scan your computer with Malwarebytes and remove threats, if any, found, malware might also cause this to happen.
I am unsure if this helps, yet I hope it proves to be of some assistance!

It is indeed with chrome on my phone... Will try that later

Just found it odd that it was only on this site... Though, in all fairness, I don't browse a lot of websites on my phone

Thank you, Raven. You now have the opening theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey stuck in my head.

iPhone 6+, Safari. Happens sometimes when I click "first unread post" in landscape mode (many tabs open or not). Goes away immediately when scrolling, probably not the same kind of problem as you have

That's why Opera Mini (old version) is my mobile browser of choice. I switch to Firefox when a page needs to actually be able to run stuff.
