RE: Censorship
https://forum.zafur.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4553 I'm here to respond to that thread (which is locked, and which tbh I didn't even read). Haha wow I'm so done with this community. I really did think the problem was me, at first, that I was being unfair or aggressive when it wasn't called for, and ...

Re: Logic Puzzles and reasoning
Are countries where they eat more Marmite less argumentative than other places? Marmite specifically? Maybe not, but let me show you two maps. The first, a map showing countries hostile to the Christian faith, graded by risk of physical persecution. So take this one as a Religious Diversity Intoler...

Re: Logic Puzzles and reasoning
What do you do? Feed everyone Marmite. This was a serious solution proposed to stabilize the Middle East . The theory was that a lack of zinc makes people argumentative, and the average Middle Eastern diet does not include high levels of zinc. So by carpet-bombing them with Marmite, you could remov...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
Afaik the two forums serve two different purposes. Correct. The AC forum is mainly there to host conversations on AC initiatives and related creative pursuits from the local community, not necessarily to serve as a general-purpose furry community, which is what ZAFur purports to be (I believe). I'd...

Re: Feelings towards community representatives
Actually, I was referring to that time Tetsudra (then Auric) was called such for doing normal moderator stuff. That is not entirely how I remember the event. But that is old water under a collapsed bridge now. No need to bring that one back up. If it's any consolation, my days here were numbered an...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
I want to ask the opposers if they know how active the furry community gets off the boards? Cause it's way busier there than here. That's part of the argument really. ZAFur sees itself as THE forum for the entire local community, so much so that a CR title here somehow carries weight everywhere. I'...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
because the voting process itself corrects the latter. So it's okay if the ends justify the means? Which doesn't matter anyway since: As stated above, I do not believe the CR role has to be limited to the forum. All exclusivity has been removed, and the privilege of the role has been rendered meani...

just that he is not as active on the forum as others. And our primary argument is not just that Badge is inactive, but that high levels of forum activity should at the very least be a prerequisite for the CR role. By permitting this, what ZAFur is really saying is that it doesn't matter how much ti...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
On a somewhat positive note, this is possibly the most activity that I have ever seen in my time on this forum. Somewhat unfortunate though that the forum is most active when it's busy imploding. ZAFur seems to exist to host discussions about the drama on ZAFur, at least going by this post count! w...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
It's actually a matter of at least a few days, to get the new host set up, transfer the data files across, then get the DB there. Last week, Afrihost had some network issues, which were disclosed in TechCentral the next day . That evening, in the span of 4 hours, I migrated both AnthroCulture sites...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
Something worth noting out of all of this: Faan is right. There ARE new people that come online for the first time, find new communities, and need people to guide them. So much the better if those guides are of a similar age, and are educated, equipped, and able to help orientate newcomers. From tha...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
I think you missed the "at a time" part, meaning he is no longer scared he might disturb the mods from babysitting everyone else under their charge. True! And it's an interesting dynamic, being a representative of a community where at ANY time you felt unable to talk to the people in charge. I mean...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
If you had anything positive to add to this site and community then maybe you would be a CR, but again being one implies that you add positively. I don't know if anyone really wants to be a CR anymore. On the one hand, being added as a CR seems to be cause for massive drama, and on the other hand, ...

we communicate with other mods/group leaders of what the community may or may not like, To answer Leewards point again, there have been actually many people that have been too scared to contact a mod (me being one of them at a time) purely because of the fact that they are moderators So by your own...

Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
I have a better idea. Let's make everyone CRs, since by the August 2016 criteria for CR selection, being online and active anywhere in the fandom now qualifies you. That way we won't argue about what it means to be a CR, and everyone gets to feel special.

but can you really be against the entire notion of extending duties to these other groups? What duties? Honestly, just answer me that. What duties do these CR's perform? Re: Badge as CR - VOTE
I voted no. It's nothing against Badge personally, but as a member of this community, I'm not really comfortable with a situation where two CRs can just pull someone else in who hasn't contributed as much to these boards as other members have. I'm also not in favour of the overall notion that the ZA...

Looking for local artists
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all you furs! :) Starting next year I'm going to be commissioning artwork on a regular basis. Varied subjects, varied characters, some SFW, some not, and I'd really like to get some pieces done by South African artists. I'll be uploading everything to my SoFurry...

Windows works well as long as EVERYTHING is Windows. If you create a heterogeneous network environment it falls apart pretty quickly, or become a setup nightmare. It gets equally nightmarish if you go all-Windows. Just because all the software ships under the same brand name doesn't mean it works w...
