Re: We're famous ... erm .. maybe

those sorta are already being hacked by bots, all depends how determined people are to spam the forum. I would suggest something more like simple algebra 2x+4y=26 supply values for x and y to post/login/etc. then make the constants be determined randomly Not a bad idea but I see some 14/15yr olds g...

Re: We're famous ... erm .. maybe

Why don't you just use a captcha for users who register? If you are already using a captcha... perhaps you need one that actually works? :P Of course, if there is a real person behind these registrations, captchas won't do squat. Thankfully we haven't actually been spammed. Maybe we need to have cap...

Re: Howzit, Bru? I'm new!

A little late for this, but hello and welcome to our humble forums. I'm going to go with tradition here and continue to say that it's great to see the furry community of South Africa growing and you can chalk up another point for the KZN furry list. I look forward to having a community big enough to...

Re: IRC app

This one is also fairly easy, tho we'd have to put it behind a login for registered members only, so we don't violate the terms in the MOTD No, it would not. A Java based client does not go through the server IP at all and is the same as a desktop client as far as an IRC server is concerned. This d...

Re: IRC app

Well, if you use a client-side client, where the connection goes out over that person's IP, there is no problem at all unlike a CGI client which uses the server's bandwidth to connect and chat with.

A client-side client will prevent abuse and eliminate the issue on the MOTD's.

IRC app

As many sites have done, they have embedded an IRC client into forums and websites to further facilitate online communication. This is my suggestion. I am not recommending a CGI client or anything, just a basic java or link to one of the online clients that are freely available. (So this will not hu...

I watched Wolf's Rain back in 2003 and I have the complete series in perfect quality OGM rips. These are the best rips I've ever seen. (DVD rip's) My wolf and I want to re-watch it from the beginning together when we have the time. A marathon watching experience! Who knows, maybe during these Christ...

Hello everyone Thanks Diori for pointing this site out to me. Always nice to meet fellow SA furries! I knew there were a few out there but not this many. Hello and welcome to you, fellow feline. This is a tad late but it's better late than never. Hi there. Welcome to the board. (Welcome aboard! CHOO CHOO!) I am an engineer. XD I do 3D modelling. For work and as a hobby. I basically do a lot of design work that requires precision models. I also get my paws dirty from time to time... on a daily basis. XD I have worked on train parts, done work...

Re: Machine reboot?

I agree with that conclusion. It doesn't sound like it's bad ram... Overheating northbridge could cause that fluctuation... as well as an overheating CPU... Most likely the northbridge. Check to see if the heatsink isn't blocked with dust. XD Other than that, I dunno... try attach a small fan to the...

Re: Long distance relationships?

I feel there should've been another option between the second and third.

I have been in long distance relationships and have had them fall apart... but if I felt the right connection with a person, I would consider it again.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for punishment.

Re: Machine reboot?

I'll just add my bit to the psu talk, there is one issue i had with my work computer that stood near a big power amp, each time that amp would start up or shut down the surge would trip the reset or shut down signal on the mother board. Check around if you don't have power supplies that could cause...

Re: Machine reboot?

Certain firewalls have conflicts with other software which can cause this. ZoneAlarm is a big red flag. It might not be the source of the problem, but that software has gone down hill extremely fast. I was also thinking that maybe if your in an area susceptible to it, you might want to check it out....

Re: Machine reboot?

Mmmm, memtest can help to reveal a few things. Despite being called Memtest, when it finds a memory problem, there is a possibility that the NorthBridge is at fault. Granted, it's more likely a memory problem than that. Just a thought. Linux is a lot more stable than windows, so even if the error wa...

Re: Machine reboot?

I'm going to try and help out, work is really busy atm. It could be a power supply problem. If certain components run out of power, your system will just reboot. I've seen overclocked/overheating CPU's reboot without BSOD's. It's quite normal for motherboards to beep (with the internal speaker) if t...
