Re: Free Speech

We had a similar discussion on Telegram but there was a question you never answered, which I think is still relevant. You have an interesting point with the idea of propaganda working and it certainly can. But the thing about propaganda and all beliefs really, is that you feel they are true and not...

Re: More facepalms

I'm treading on the fine line between addressing the argument and addressing the man here, but I find this statement of yours very hard to take seriously when on Twitter you accepted the idea that giving offensive voices a platform is a form of "enablement", whatever the hell that means nowadays. BiqDZlAZygU While I actually agree with most things he says in this speech, I do have to disagree with "intolerance of intolerance" just being another form of intolerance. That's simply the paradox of tolerance . By infinitely tolerating intolerant ideas, tolerance will eventually be destroyed by t...

Re: The furry public perception

I perhaps found furry because the art resonated with me, but that's not why I got involved, it's not why I interact with the community, and it's not why I'm here. I've made friends within the community without having a single discussion about anthro art. A major aspect of the furry fandom is the pro...

Re: The furry public perception

I always have a problem when people say this sort of thing because that's more describing what you get out furry than what furry is. Dance can be about personal expression. Playing the piano can be personal expression. But those things aren't furry. Maybe it's a small thing because perhaps you real...

Re: The furry public perception

I know I'm way late to the discussion, but figured I'd chip in. It's hard to get people to understand something they just don't grok. And that's okay. I don't understand some people's love of sports, or cars, or horror movies. No amount of explaining is going to give me that moment where I'm like "o...

I question this test...

I opted for:
* Government being as big as it needs to be.
* Healthcare as a human right.
* Welfare as a human right.
* Strict gun control.
* Taxing the rich.

And I'm an anarchist / libertarian?

998 attendees? That's amazing! They've grown so much. I went to ThaiTails two years ago, and they capped their attendance at 100 tickets, I think there were 103 guests in total.

I'm glad to hear they're doing well, the furs that I met in Thailand and Malaysia were really friendly and welcoming.

But you have to give them a cell number to use it. Thankfully however, you do not have to share your number to chat with people, like with WhatsApp. Usernames are enough. I activated my account using a number to which I have since lost access. But new sessions can be authenticated from existing ses...

Re: Furpocalypse - The Haunted Asylum

You can't tell someone to not be offended by something. It offends them. It isn't "wrong", it just "is". They can't demand the world change to not offend them, but likewise you cannot demand they not be offended. Some people who didn't like the theme spoke up, the theme stuck, and now some people ar...

Re: Furpocalypse - The Haunted Asylum

While the haunted asylum theme doesn't bother me much, I can see why it would bother others. Mental institutions are terrifying places, and it is very possible to get "trapped" in one. Not that long ago many of us in the fandom would have been institutionalised for one reason or another. But either ...

What opportunities available to the majority are unavailable to these minorities? Employment? University attendance? Not those, evidently, as the constitution and rights ch...

I strongly condemn the action taken by the police officers in that clip. From a forensic perspective though, that nurse should just have taken the sample. In the long run it might benefit the patient to prove that they were not drunk/high at the time of an accident. Criminal considerations aside, w...

I wouldn't really be in favour of a forum "permanent record" though. Once one has waited out their ban, let them come bac...

One of those puzzles with no definitive solution. I'll take box B, she's never been wrong before. Edit: I can see the argument for taking both though. After her prediction, she cannot change the contents of the boxes, so there is no downside to just grabbing both. I'll still stick with just B though.
