Re: Salutations

Thanks for the hello guys :)

Glad to see some other dragons here as well - chose it for my fursona as I was born in the year of the dragon. According to the Chinese Zodiac profile fits my personality traits quite nicely

Re: Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's)

I think that overall benefit to society in the whole considering this recearch, completely outweighs the suffering of a few individuals, that may or may not get cancer. We may be forced to move into a age where we need to consider that scientific progress that would benefit a large group of people, ...

Re: Total War Series

I quite enjoyed the Rome Total war series. Had a few very decent battles where I had been totally outnumbered, mostly when defending a city I just took over, and still managed to scare the barbarian hordes off my newly acquired land :D I never completed the game though - never been able to take over...

Re: A place for weird questions

Where does the expression "holding thumbs" (to wish someone good luck or strength) come from? All I could find. Hope it helps :) "A surprising number of gestures and practices of past times involved the thumb. The folding of the thumb into the palm of the hand, with the other fingers closed over it...

Re: Postive furry media exposure

This may not be a direct pointer to the furry fandom, but in general movies, with furry characters in them (Lion King, Eragon, etc...) may indirectly lead to some positive exposure for the fandom. Not to forget that, for those who then pursue their interests further with an open mind, furry artwork ...

Re: Friendly Neighbourhood Hedgehog

Somewhat new to the whole furry scene myself, I think it's awesome to find forums where everyone seems to be so accepting and friendly. I have been a furry for quite a few years now, and I must say that eventhough there is the usual drama with troublemakers and 'general public perception' about us,...

Re: Some Harsh Words

Guys, really? You're actually bothering to care? What a waste of time! First of all, this website is probably run by 4chan members. They love to do stuff like this because furs get so worked up about it! Its not like they are paragons of non-discrimination themselves. 5 minutes of browsing 4chan wi...

Some Harsh Words

Some harsh words from an anti-furry site. http://www.antifurrycoalition.org/Anti-Furry_Coalition%C2%AE_Official_Website/What_Are_Furries.html Isn't it wrong to discriminate against the furries? No, and it's hardly discrimination. Being a "furry" is not like being a homosexual, or Jewish, or black, o...

Re: Microsoft Office Vs Openoffice

Also using Office 2007, though I liked 2003 a lot better. 2007 feels bulky and slow to get things done. Maybe I still have to get used to the menus it seems. I have nothing against Java or open source as any 'competition' is good competition, which forces the commercial giants to keep their software...

Re: Wolf's Rain

Caught the first few episodes of Wolf's Rain in December on DSTV, seemed quite interesting, as I usually love anything anime, but I missed the rest due to some RL stuff. Hope they show it again sometime though. I agree. If you want to watch a foreign movie why not watch it as it was as much as possi...

Re: If you wake up tomorrow ... and turned into a fur ...

:( What have you people got against scientists? Guess I watch too many movies :) You must agree however that Hollywood does not always depict scientists in the best light, and strangely enough, that metaphor seemed to have stuck with most people (?) But realistically, I can not see that a scientist...

Any reason to party is good enough for me  The 2038 problem seems quite interesting though, at least they will have more than enough time to figure that one out. Very neat collection!

Especially like the WW1/2 collection as it reminds me of the Call of Duty game series for PC - and that is the closest I ever got to the real thing

Probably try to find someplace to hide from those mean men in white lab coats...

Being studied, probed and eventually dissected, is not my idea of fun.

Salutations

Wow, didn't even know there was a South African furry group around. Really glad I found it as I have been on Yiffstar for about 5 years now.

Anyhow, love being a furry and to be part of a friendly community - now at least there is one closer to home :)
