I must say, the upcoming changes to Diablo 3 in Reaper of Souls look great. So, who will be crusading through the realm of Sanctuary once more on its release?

Did anyone actually add me? I received a friend request which now seems to have disappeared. I wasn't sure if it was one of you.

So there's a massive new content patch coming out for Diablo 3, and plenty of people are going to start making new characters for the new seasons. If you're still thinking of buying or playing Diablo 3, now would be a good time to start.
Patch Overview
Patch Notes
A Closer Look at The Vault
A Closer Look at Greater Nephalim Rifts
This patch comes out on Wednesday.

In short it features lots of changes to all the classes (some really interesting ones, especially coupled with the most recent patches); new legendaries; new zones, including the cesspools ; leader boards; seasonal achievements and rewards; leader boards (seasonal and otherwise), and of course Greater Rifts and Realms of Trials, and all the fun things that go with those.

I recently acquired D3RoS and I'm enjoying it a lot. Played through as a Wizard on my first go, and now I'm dabbling with the Witch Doctor (dat be some bad juju, mon xP).

My only complaints is that it can get a bit repetitive after a while, and it's too easy (even on the harder difficulties) once you reach level 20 or so. Something else that really irks me is the lack of an offline mode. Maybe I'll venture some playtime with others once I've given every character class a go, but until then the latency is a constant, unnecessary irritation in my single player questing.

But other than that, it's still a lot of fun.

Awesome Contrast, you must add me: Crymaw #2302. :)

What amount of latency are you generally suffering from?

It gets pretty tough once you start playing on the torment difficulty levels, which is also when special loot starts to change the way you play the game, which helps alleviate some of the repetitiveness.

At best, 250ms. At worst, 2000ms.

Oh wow. That is most unfortunate. Have you tried complaining to your ISP? It should be sitting around 162-180ms at which point it's pretty much unnoticeable.

I agree though that it is most unfortunate they do not have an offline mode. The console version does... :(

I don't think that will help. Internet doesn't come much better out here in ostrich country.
And my "ISP" is actually just some guy called "Spook". :P

The offline mode is probably because of what happened to Diablo 2. People hacked and pirated the hell out of it, and Blizzard doesn't want that to happen with D3, but since you can't really do that on console, they gave it an offline mode.

Semi-interesting thing about D2. Back when I was a kid, I saw a Diablo Battlechest bundle (Diablo 1 + 2 + all the expansions + a strategy guide for each) in a Cash Crusaders. I wanted to buy it, but then my sister went and told my mom the game I wanted to buy was "satanic".

"What's it about?" she asked as I tried in vain to defend my position.
"Well, you fight Diablo to save -"
"Diablo? Isn't that Spanish for 'Satan'?"
"Well, yeah, but he's not 'Satan' Satan. He's just the Prime Evil..."
"Put it back!"

Still kinda pissed at my sister for that. -_-

I've never quite understood how killing demons is satanic. Are exorcists all secretly satanists?

She's mellowed out 500% since then, though. Funnily enough, I think it was probably Harry Potter that did it. She didn't like me reading all those books that all the other mothers were clucking about, so she decided to watch the movie to decide whether or not she should put a stop to it. She ended up loving it, and then, to my immense surprise, she asked to borrow my books, too. After that she never copped to much of what the Boere Anties would say at their koek en tee, especially about subjects they clearly didn't know anything about.

Something you have to understand about small Afrikaans towns is that people like to drag satanism out from behind every bush. Hell, even pokemon was considered satanic for a long time.

It must be very exciting for them to talk about naughty things like Satan, sex, and magic.

It's like an adventurous excursion for them into forbidden territory under the pretense of protecting their families. What a nice reprieve that must be from the boring humdrum of their lives as conservative, subservient housewives living in a rural area.

Doesn't look that appealing. Played one of them for a few minutes at least. And it looks practically identical to Torchlight.

Lol. That was pretty funny. :P

Dredge, MontgomerySeven and I actually started new characters on Saturday. We slayed Diablo last night playing on torment 1 (our first attempt was a wipe xD ) and we have just killed Urzael in Act V.

Fluke joined us along the way and VoxLupus has been working but will join us later.

Onward furry brothers, to victory!

  that vid, love the Honest Trailers, never fail to amuse xD

Also, you mean Torchlight is pretty identical to Diablo ;)

I believe some of the original Diablo developers are actually behind TL1 and 2, hence the similarities, regardless, they are all great games --> Although I think the Solo campaign is longer and the story better in Torchlight 2, albeit without the EPIC cut-scenes :)

Oh my goodness, yes! More Diablo furs, more! :D

Seth-Rah? I haven't seen you on this forum in ages. I thought you were dead, like, hardcore dead. Welcome back. :P

I only have time to play Diablo 3 on weekends I'm afraid, so I will only help you slay evil then, but I'll get Vox to add you in the meantime. Sanctuary is a dangerous place and he needs someone to babysit him. ;)
