Spot The Station

If you like astronomy like me you might find this website interesting.

You register your number or email address and city. They then send you details on the next sighting of the International Space Station.

The station is the third brightest object in the sky just after the sun and moon. So you can see it without a telescope with your naked eye...preferably not naked.

The notification looks like this:
SpotTheStation! Time: Tue Nov 06 4:17 AM, Visible: 6 min, Max Height: 46 degrees, Appears: SSW, Disappears: ENE
I have yet to see it. It passes in view at around 8 pm and 6 am.

reflum,

It's really cool to watch it. Have spotted it several times. Even without looking at the tables (there are several services providing infos on when you can best spot it).

When ATV-4 was started we watched the start via livestream. After that we got out on our balcony and sadly nothing. But the second turn it did we spotted it. It's even cool to see the actual start of an spacecraft and then spot it on the night sky with just your eyes less than two hours later!
