Greatest Fears

Post by ZeeTrix »

Okay, this post will involve delving deep into your soul and uncovering the most primal fears unlocked within...

LOL  JK, just post your biggest fear(s) and any reason(s) as to why you might have them.

Okay, here goes.

The Dark - A childhood fear that just never went away.

The Deep Sea - Caused by a REALLY bad nightmare I had when I was a little kid.

Heights - Just always was there.

Ghosts - I think my house might be haunted

Nightmares - Whenever I'm dreaming I can never wake up, despite knowing that I am in a dream. Also most nightmares I have are extremely vivid and realistic.
If you don't turn your life into a story, you just become part of someone else's story.

i fear:

Aliens taking over the world in a War of the Worlds manner - thanks to the film...
Spiders - not the big ones, just the little ones with beady eyes...
Centipedes - how can i not be afraid of something with the ability to kill a grown adult man...
green ooze - i had a dream once... it freaked me out
Spiders - yeah... they scare me a lot
Sometimes men - it's hard to talk about, and I'm just about over it...

I think I might have mentioned this before on the confessions thread, but I have this weird phobia whenever I climb stairs that I'll slip and fall teeth-first into them, breaking my front teeth and causing blood to gush out.

I get very anxious at the prospect of losing my senses and abilities, such as eating, walking, feeling, seeing, hearing, balance, memory, and bowel control. I suppose that's part of the generic fear of ageing everyone has, but it's the loss of self-sufficiency that frightens me, not the ageing itself.

Other than that... I'm not scared of death, the dark, large animals, small animals (spiders, snakes, any other creepy crawlies), clowns, needles, holes, blood and gore, water, heights, tight spaces, open spaces, public speaking, flying, driving, commitment, failure, rejection, intimacy, the supernatural, or any other typical fear.

I do however get unnerved by (inflated) balloons and the squeaking that rubbing them produces. I hate the idea that they can pop at any moment. Whenever it's my birthday I specifically request that nobody should bring balloons. If someone were to pull the balloon-in-the-cake prank on me I would probably hurt them.

Accepting that where I am currently in life is all I will ever be when I want to be more.
Suicide - That one day I'll wake up and my anti-depressants are not working.
Loneliness - That I will grow old alone, been through so many relationships I believe this will be the case.
Poverty - I work in one of the lowest paid professions in the country, the struggle for financial survival in our country gets worse by the day.

So many more, but not many are physical, in most instances you fears and phobias change as you mature, as different things start to become more or less important to you.
If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear,
if you've something to hide you shouldn't be here.

I have a fear of slow-moving or non-moving man made heights. Planes, I'm fine with. Mountains, I'm fine with. Roller coasters are fine. But if I'm on a high floor of a high building (5 stories is enough to creep me out), or a big wheel, I just get so scared. Like, I start to feel the ground move when it's not

Also, bees. I remember, one day, when I was small, I think I was at my dads work, or one of his friends works, and I was even bragging about how I fear nothing, then I stepped on a bee... I guess it was the universes way of telling me to get over myself. And now I hate bees...

I fear not being in control of my own body, or thoughts. Hypnosis, mind control, whatever. Even addiction. Anything tampering with my thoughts scares me. If I'm gonna do dumb things, I want to be the one doing those things, not some substance/sorcerer/demon... whatever. I ofyen get weird nightmares about this

From what I know of you, this is an unfounded fear, you are always everyone else's saviour (including your own family).

I fear cancer.

It's deadly, and mostly unavoidable.

One of my best friends, my uncle, my grandfather and two family friends have all died of cancer.

Big fears?
Losing right eye and right hand. no this has nothing to do with wanking, I write, draw and operate my mouse with my right hand.
I'd rather live a life where my legs, left arm, left eye, ears, tongue, nose, teeth are gone than lose this right arm and right eye.
Well I could get by just fine with just a left eye if I'm honest, but right hand is most important.

Other fears:
big spiders
Stranded in deep space
anything involving brain damage

A phobia is an irrational fear my friend.

stranded in space is a phobia of mine.

I know it will never happen but I am still fearful.

Even in kerbal space program I make triple certain that I can return kerbals back to kerbin. and I always pick up resuce contracts to save kerbals who are stuck in space

ngh! I remember one tutorial in kerbal space program where they dumped a kerbal floating in space a distance away from his ship, you had to use his remaining jetpack fuel to get back but you try flying to it but fly too fast then overshoot and you try turning around and then your spinning out of control!

;.=.;

I have never lost a kerbal stranded somewhere. SURE! some have suffered annihilation in catastrophic launch failure.

But all have come back! in some or other condition...

The weird thing is, as a child I used to catch bees and spiders for fun.
Now I can’t stand being near them.

I don't fear a great many things... But what I do fear is completely irrational...

I fear rejection most of all... Hence my lack of connections... I have nightmares about this...

Spiders... I HATE those 8 legged freaks! And we live in a thatch roof house, so they're literally everywhere!

And lastly, I fear going into our church at night... I don't know... That place just gives me the creeps for some reason...

I used to fear rejection, especially the opposite sex, but I somehow outgrew that and discovered men and women are pretty much the same when it comes to getting together in terms of fears and concerns.

my fears are:
~Sharks (Due to my dad thinking it would be an excellent idea to make me watch shows where people are viciously torn limb from limb by great whites when I was like 5. I'm also pretty sure forcing me on to the jaws ride in Universal studios pretty much sealed the deal)

~Anything supernatural (I lucid dream A LOTA and I've dreamed of some really scary stuff and I can't tell the difference between dream and reality when it happens rip) But yet at the same time I have a massive fascination for it!

~And I guess being forgotten? I always have this fear of people leaving me because of who I am (mostly family tbh)

I have a stupid, and irrational, fear of moths (and butterflies). I have absolutely no idea. They just terrify me. I don't fear birds, or planes, or many flying things, just moths and butterflies.
