Thankfully it didn't tear the bow in two. Dry firing is pretty deadly to bows. You should be able to get a replacement string, though. What types of bows are yours? If you use classic/traditional or recurve you can get a new one fairly cheaply. If yours are compounds then you've got a bit of a problem.

Well I know that now... That happened a few years ago when I was younger. I could get string but never really bothered to even look. I don't know much about the bows. but they are both simple longbows, no pulleys or levers or sights. The wood one is 108cm long when straight. The plastic one is 168cm straight and made by "The Outdoor Sports MFG. Co. Forestville. Conn." That's all I know about them.

Edit: This is it! http://www.ebay.com/itm/371086628814
So it's fibreglass. Mine doesn't curve like that any more, if it used to. It lies almost totally straight.

Looks quite cool. That link refers to it as a recurve, and it definitely looks like one to me. Recurve strings range from about R100-R300, I think. I've never really shopped for strings before, so you might be able to find some cheaper if you look around.

Edit: If you decide to start using them, keep in mind that as recurves your fingers are going to get chopped up like mine unless you get a release or something to protect them. Unless the poundage is on the lower end, but I'm not sure how to measure that.

Urg. I hate using a trigger.
It's so dead and lifeless. I have to feel the bowstring.

I've got a tab now, so my fingers are no longer exploding. I'm not really sure if I want a release though; I like the low-tech solutions. I'm not as hardcore as Helios though, that I can just use my bare fingers.

I just bought a 5th Gen Honda VFR 800. That engine sound is enough to bring any sane man to tears.

Since this thread is worthless without pictures, here she is.

I give you, the Battlestar Galatica:

Haha, I kid of course. It's a meme based on generic youtube comments.

That's awesome Monty! Very cool looking bike. :D

The red ones go faster!

EDIT: I just realized! Your new bike is exactly like the one from your fursona drawing! All you need now is to become a snow leopard. O.o

Dat head!

Just following chats in the Watsapp groups and chatting with others, it looks like we have a few new full/partial suiters on the way, very good to see ;)

But will you wear that in public :P (I can do crazy hats and stuff, buut I'd need some persuading to wear a tail, myself xD)

Also, SICK looking bike, man---> THAT is what you call a Crotch Rocket :o
But..where's your helmet >__>)

:P

Not as cool as that o.o

Two heads are being worked on, with two more in the pipeline, but I haven't seen final pieces so it's tough to call

**EDIT**

Also, the woman making them is still fairly new(ish), but she's definitely talented. :)

I had to sign papers, and there was no way that I was doing that looking like Darth Vader. Besides, you just cannot write in winter gloves.

Lol. Yeah. I could have linked some stuff from some Linkin Park or Rise Against songs but that would have been boring.
