What are you doing RIGHT NOW?

The place to talk about anything just generally furry. If you have a furry-related thread that doesn't fit anywhere else, put it here! Just keep it clean.

That sounds more like posting out of compulsion than out of having something to say. If that's your motivation I understand why it feels pointless. I've been posting almost as much as you have (6.3/d) but I'm not racing towards a milestone or position; I post because I want to. It seems to me like you're a bit too competitive for your own good.

That's what these things always come down to.

I rarely have something of value to say these days, yet I have to say something regardless just to keep pace.

That's why some forums hide post counts, to stop people just posting to get ahead. Do I want to lose my spot at the top? Hell no! But I only post when I feel it's necessary. The forum and fandom are a way of interacting with similar people, where you can be whoever or whatever you want. You don't have to like every aspect or person involved. But it's a nice way to meet someone and then talk whatever it is you do care about. But like all social interactions of course it will feel like a chore if you start trying to reach targets. You'd have the same problem if you tried to greet more people a day than someone else or even have sex with more people. Something that was once fun will quickly become a chore because you're doing it because you have to, not because you want to.

But, why? Why is saying nothing not acceptable?

I don't like saying things that don't offer value.

So I know that when I start using the forum to brag about how rich my family just for the sake of making posts that I have crossed the line.

The solution seems obvious: start posting less, and more meaningfully.

As an (to be) Engineer... All conversations regular people have is pointless and inefficient... And even I enjoy checking up on the forum... I post only when I can contribute... There is no reason why you can't? I'd find it tiring as hell to even post 1 post a day, not to mention 6.5! No wonder... Dude... This doesn't HAVE to be a competition... Just... Enjoy yourself... Behing a furry isn't about fursuits and art(sure that plays a roll, but it's just part of the community)... It's about being free to be just yourself without being judged...(to me at least)

I'm not trying to force you to stay, nor even convince you... It's entirely up to you... If you feel you need to go, go... I'm just saying...

Apart from the community aspects, what I love about the furry fandom is the frivolity and whimsy it lets you embrace. It's all about having fun, pretending to be an idealised character. It's a childlike freedom I had too little of at an age when it was generally appropriate. So I use it an a fantasy outlet and a platform for imagination. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure in that sense. The idea of it turning it into a chore seems like a tragedy to me.

Being a furry doesn't place a burden upon you to act upon it with rigour and zeal. You don't have a duty to "be furry" on a daily basis.

That misses the point of reaching a milestone entirely.

There you go again, turning it into a competition. At first I thought it was personal, but now I see it's just a compulsion. I couldn't care less about having more or fewer posts than you, or being CR instead of you. I've said it in both situations, I'm more than happy to let you "win" because it doesn't really matter. You're the only one competing in an imaginary race here, and the only one getting riled up over "winning" it. Don't you see that that's what's feeling so futile?

Meh, I don't care whether or not you are actively competing against me, all that matters is that you joined before me, and for that reason are never allowed to have more posts than me.

If you do hit your 2k milestone and then leave, and then time goes on and other people who joined after you one day pass 2k, would you then return just to beat them as well?

Edit: Also, this thread has given you an ample amount of posts for the day :P

Right now I'm sitting here wondering why people are the way they are.
As well as trying to get myself to draw for the first time in a long while.
Neither has been very fruitful so far. xD

Scrubs is my all time favourite show (if that's what your referring to because i think your missing a watched in there...) I have worked hard to be as optimistic and full of crap as J.D.

I wanted to become a doctor because of them... and then i changed my mind because real medical work isnt nearly as fun as television would have me believe...

Yeah, I missed a "watched..." I seem to make a few typos after just getting up. But yeah, you're body comment just made me remember his separated head and body.

"Body, come!"

Not sure if that was a deliberate reference or not. Still brightened up my morning.
